Used and Abused: Icon 1000 Elsinore Boot
Are you searching for something different than Moc toes or Engineer boots to ride that machine of yours in? Well, Icon has what you need for sure. Looking like something Steve McQueen would have worn in the ’70s with a post-apocalyptic twist, the Elsinore Boot harks back to a time when metal was king and only Tupperware was made from plastic. The boot is constructed of real cow-derived leather and has a series of real-deal steel straps and buckles, as well as a zipper along the inside of the boot for easy entry and exiting. The tried-and-true Goodyear welt construction attaches the steel-shanked sole to the upper with copious amounts of strength. This was good because when I was testing these boots I ended up having to kick my crusty old Shovelhead for what seems like hours to get it going. Although that was a total bummer, I am sure these boots saved my arch as well as my Achilles from any harm when doing so. Although these boots might not be up your alley, they performed as well as any other boot I have ridden in, and the looks really grew on me.
