Roland Sands Profile/ Sailor Jerry Presents Hot Bike Invitational Bike Build-Off
Running in conjunction with this years GEICO Motorcycle Hot Bike Tour is the Sailor Jerry Presents Hot Bike Invitational Bike Build-off featuring the world’s best bike builders. The Invited builders will have to put their metal where their mouth is and build a badass bike that they can and will actually ride over 5 days and 1,000 + miles.
One of those featured builders is Roland Sands of Roland Sands Design
Roland was born into the world of custom motorcycles. His first motorcycle was a RM 50 dirtbike, given to him on his 5th birthday and after minutes of riding he broke a bone, but fell in love with it regardless. Roland started working at Performance Machine at 14 sweeping floors and after years of assembly, sanding, polishing, and designing Roland worked his way as Director of R&D at Performance Machine. In 2005 Roland started RSD. Roland now works with motorcycle manufacturers providing design and prototype aid and runs his own custom bike fabrications out of his Southern California headquarters. Roland Sands’ designs are described as being a perfect mixture of sport bike and chopper influences creating the ultimate in custom bikes.
