According to motorcycle folklore, you should never paint a motorcycle green.

you should never paint a motorcycle green
There are several theories behind the color superstition. The most popular one is that during World War II, all the Harley-Davidson service bikes were painted Army Green. Due to their size and vulnerability to arms fire, many servicemen were killed on their bikes as a result. After returning from war, the stigma continued and eventually grew into modern superstition.
The second-most popular theory is that the color green blends with the rolling hills of the highway, making the rider less visible to traffic. This myth also applied to black bikes but certainty hasn’t affected that as the color of choice by any means. Either way, painting a bike green has always been a hit or miss with owners based on their level of superstition.
Oscar Ramirez, owner of this 2007 Street Glide, had no problems when it came to painting his slammed and stretched big-wheel bagger. Oscar started his two-wheel life with the fast-and-furious crowd atop a sportbike before switching to the greener pastures of a custom V-twin; as he told it, “I used to ride a Yamaha R1 and decided to move up to a bagger. After going on a couple of rides with some buddies, I went out and purchased a Street Glide. I wanted to make my bike different, so I decided to give it more style.”
Oscar enlisted the help of Inland Empire Baggers, based out of the east side of the Los Angeles area. I.E. Baggers has been pumping out some of the most desired and popular bikes in the Southern California

I.E. Baggers has been pumping out some of the most desired and popular bikes in the Southern California
bike scene over the past couple of years. Shop owner Marcos Mendieta combines both the traditional lowrider paint and style mixed with the modern bodywork and oversize rolling rubber popular around the country.
“Marcos from I.E. Baggers helped me tear the bike apart, and that’s how it started,” Oscar explained. “I decided the paint color should be something that would stand out. I chose the new Camaro Green and sent it over to Danny D. to make it stand out and improve on it with silver leafing, patterns, and fingerprints. Of course the paint came out perfect.” Aside from the finish, Marcos raked the frame to accompany the 26-inch Colorado Custom wheel, added a set of HHI triple trees, and slammed the rear with custom rear air ride to give it a sleek, proportional appearance. A custom front and rear fender combined with stretched bags gave the butt of a bike a proper booty even J-Lo would be jealous of. A combination of an Alpine stereo and amplifiers hooked up to Hertz speakers complete the package for an all-day cruiser with style.
Make no mistake; this mean green machine ain’t no trailer queen. “For all those who think you can’t ride a bike like this, you’re wrong when it’s done right,” Oscar stated. “Last year, I rode this bike, not trailered, from Southern California to Sturgis for a photo shoot.

I rode this bike to Sturgis for a photo shoot.
” My guess is the bike’s ability to get there safely and back had nothing to do with pure luck. Therefore we’d have to conclude that the green myth is busted.
