2008 Victory Lineup
The Victory lineup for 2008 is nothing short of spectacular. With a wide range of models to choose from, the ’08 lineup covers the entire spectrum of riding styles: The Vegas 8-Ball is great for “around-town” cruising, and the Vision Tour will take you from point A to point B, and then on to point Z, where you’ll arrive at your multiple-mile destination without feeling fatigued. With the standard 100ci engine displacement on board most models (except Vision Tour and Vision Street, which feature a 106ci motor), power has increased to 85hp and 106 ft-lbs of torque. Victory’s power plant is transitioned from the six-speed transmission (except Vegas 8-Ball and Kingpin 8-Ball, which feature a five-speed trans) with ease to the rear wheel/tire via the Primary Gear drive with torque compensator. The entire Victory drivetrain package is bulletproof in that it will withstand severe punishment and keep on keeping on. Since 1998, Victory has produced solid-running motorcycles in the American V-Twin industry and do so to this day. They continue to innovate in design and their progressive freshness in motorcycle development is a force to be reckoned with. Victory has become one of the largest production motorcycle manufacturers on the North American continent. We recently inherited the Vegas 8-Ball for a longterm road test, so stay tuned as to our thoughts on the bike as well as some of the ideas we have for upgrading the 8-Ball in future issues to come.
Vision Tour
Touring is huge in the industry and we can’t think of another touring model that looks or performs like the Vision Tour. With futuristic aesthetics, a 106ci motor, and a six-speed trans, the Vision Tour covers all of the bases and is ready for the long haul. Engineered for comfort, the Vision Tour has been in development for over six years and the creative team has designed a luxury cruiser in the Vision Tour. There are several mounting points for electrical connections to accommodate a GPS, iPod, CB Radio, microwave, plasma-screen television, washer/dryer, and refrigerator. OK, maybe not those last four items, but you catch our drift. It’s set up for riding long distances with the adjustable windshield (available on higher-end models or as an accessory) that allows you to control the airflow. Total storage volume is 29.2 gallons in the saddle bags but like the old adage goes: Where there’s a will there’s a way, which definitely applies here since an optional trunk rack is available to stow more cargo. There are so many things to list that it would take up the entire space allotted for this article; simply put, if you like to ride this could be a great bike for you.

Kingpin
The Kingpin also utilizes a new braking system. With new brake levers, front 4-piston caliper and rear 2-piston caliper, 300mm floating rotors, and master cylinder you’ll be able to stop the bike effortlessly. You can easily spruce up the Kingpin because Victory offers over 265 Kingpin model-family accessories. In total, the Kingpin is offered in three different styles: Kingpin, Kingpin 8-Ball, and Kingpin Tour. The Kingpin is available in Solid Midnight Cherry, Solid Super Steel Gray, Two-tone Sands Metallic/ Black, Solid Black, and Black w/ flamed graphics.

Arlen Ness Signature SeriesVegas Jackpot
Father and son gurus of American iron, Arlen and Cory Ness, have teamed up with Victory to produce a wicked custom production model for 2008. They Ness-ecitized a Vegas Jackpot and the finished products are fiercely intense creations. Both Arlen and Cory had the opportunity to create their own Vegas Jackpot (Arlen’s model is pictured). The Ness treatment includes a custom onepiece seat with intricate stitching pattern, Ness Teardrop mirrors, chrome frontend and headlight housing, blacked out motors with chrome covers and diamond-cut cylinders and heads, knurled footpegs and grips, and much more. These models are only available for 2008, so if you don’t act soon you might be missing out.

Vegas
If one style wasn’t sufficient enough for this particular model, Victory offers five different options to choose from: Vegas, Vegas Low, Vegas Jackpot, Vegas 8-Ball, and the Signature Series Ness Vegas Jackpot. All utilize the 100ci motor, and most come with six-speed trans (8-Ball comes with five-speed trans). Hammer
New on the ’08 Hammer you’ll notice the difference in the controls from the handgrips (which are set up to accept the heat warming accessory) and end caps to mate with the all-new switch housings. Plus, the new braking system with a 4-piston caliper (found on most models’ front wheels, except Vision Tour and Vision Street, which utilize a 3-piston caliper) and 2-piston calipers on the rear floating rotors. The long, low profile of the Hammer provide a comfortable riding position with the Victory’s “V” Handlebars. The passenger pad is hidden underneath the cowl, but is easily removed for two-up riding. The 250mm rear tire is beefy and is meant to handle in tight turns and corners. Choose from a variety of paint combinations from Solid Midnight Cherry, Solid Super Steel Gray, Solid Boardwalk Blue, or Solid Black.
